I tried to paint the finished part of the wall from yesterday with a liquid wood stain. It was time-consuming and the wall looked a little like it was made out of one piece of wood. So I took a sponge from the kitchen and cut a small piece out of it and used it to prestain all the wood before cutting and assembling it.

To the left is the finished wall painted with wood stain and to the right are the four parts behind the engine peiced together with prestained wood. The difference is quite clear.

I used an "antique oak" colored waterbased wood stain.
